After Budapest I wasn't sure I could like another place even more but Prague proved me wrong. Prague was so much fun, we stayed with a bunch of Juliana's friends from high school who showed us around every where. It was so great!
This has been the most rewarding and eye opening experience. I'd like to give a BIG thank you to my grandparents for making this all possible. I am so appreciative of the experiences I'm having here in Europe and I really feel like I'm becoming a better person and learning to enjoy life more. This is truly a once in a life time opportunity and I am so happy that I was fortunate enough to take advantage of it. I was so nervous and scared to come over here all by myself not knowing any one and everything has turned out so well. A big lesson I've learned is to not worry so much and just enjoy the moment.
After Budapest and Prague I went to Barcelona this weekend! The weather wasn't as fabulous as my other destinations (it rained on us for just a little bit everyday), but that didn't stop me from falling in love! We stayed with another friend of Juliana's and ended up with another awesome tour guide. I remember when I was younger hearing my older siblings complain about how gross Spanish food was when they had traveled there in high school. Well, they must not have been in Barcelona because the food was great! We had the most amazing tapas just about every night.
Right now I have a couple days in Amsterdam to catch up on school work and get ready for Henry to come visit! I cannot wait! Of course though, Amsterdam has decided to become completely beautiful, green, and sunny making it very hard to concentrate. I'm so glad I'll have an excuse to cruise around the city when Henry comes.
I've done so much the last three weeks so I have a TON of pictures! Here are the best of the best:
Sunset from my window in Amsterdam
Our program got us tickets to see Holland play Macedonia, it was the qualifier for the world cup so it was a lot of fun, especially since we won!
This building houses the baths we went to on Saturday during the day, definitely a high light of the trip! I was not expecting to get to be able to lay out in my bathing suite!
The Jewish Quarter was probably my favorite thing we did, but you're not allowed to take pictures inside any of the buildings so this is all I have to show. However, I do have a good story to tell. So when we were trying to find our way to the Jewish quarter I was talking to my friends about which way I thought we should go when all the sudden this very attractive man stops me and says in an American accent, "Ahh, where are you from?" For some reason when ever some one asks me this question it always takes me a little while to figure out what to say, but I eventually got it out and replied "uuhhh California"(really smooth I know). His response then was, "Oh I love you. I haven't heard that accent in weeks, I love you just for that" He then turned away and kept on walking. As soon as he was out of ear shot Kara freaked out and told us it was the R&B singer Ne-Yo. I know Ne-Yo's music but have no idea what he looks like so I didn't believe Kara, but when we looked him up online not only did it look just like him but there were a ton of articles about how he is currently filming a movie in Prague! What a small world!
My pictures really don't do the stained class justice, it was so beautiful and glowed through out the entire chapel.
My new favorite snack. What you're looking at is fried mozzarella with ketchup and mayonnaise. I plan on making these myself once I have a real kitchen to cook in.
